NonSociety is “your window into [the] crazy lives” of a handful of women — notably, Julia Allison. Basically, it’s a few tumblelogs of hot chicks. More importantly (to me, anyway), the “lifecasts” have a clever and good-looking horizontal-scrolling design. I dig it. Via Rex.

Just curious: anyone know if they’re using Tumblr to power the thing? Visit site »

Cool new aptly-named blog: it tells you what stuff chicks want. Good for chicks who want to know what they should want, and men that have to buy chicks stuff they do want. Visit site »

The jackass (or asses) that run this site have pirated my chapter of Web Standards Creatvitiy, a book I co-authored for Friends of ED, and published it in their blog as their very own. From what I can tell, their entire blog is made up of articles they didn’t write. What a bunch of assholes. Visit site »

Matt, a great web designer and friend in Seattle, has finally launched his blog. After I met this guy at a Refresh Seattle shortly after he moved to town, we exchanged several e-mails that got into some rants and saves about the industry. I told him, “dude, you’ve gotta get a blog.” And he finally has. Trust me, you want to subscribe to this one. Plus, it’s got a nice design. Visit site »

My good friend Sara Flemming (dotsara on flickr) now has a blog, and she’s kicked it off with a great post about renting camera lenses, something she’s done several times and is quite fond of. Sara is one of the awesomest photographers I know, a solid front-end web developer, a good writer, and an all-around cool chick — so you can be sure this’ll be a blog worth subscribing too (especially if you’re into photography or CSS nerdery). My good friend and Blue Flavor co-worker Tom Watson launched a new personal site at a new URL. He’s done an awesome job of integrating all of his online activities (Flickr, Delicious, Upcoming, etc.) in one place, and put a beautiful, clean, elegant design on top of it. His “stream” is my favorite part. Love those letter overlays. Oh — and it’s Django-powered. :) Visit site »

Kevin Cornell and Matthew Sutter have put together one of the most entertaining blogs in a long, long time. The premise is simple: one illustrator draws up a superhero who’s special power enables them to vanquish the previous hero. Brilliant, funny, and well-designed. Love it. Visit site »

My cousin and Newsvine writer extraordinaire has finally launched his own personal website. Brian is a classicly-trained graphic designer, but to this point, hasn’t done much web design. He put the site together with Apple’s iWeb, and I must say I’m impressed with what he was able to do. Of course, the code is crap, but Apple has made it relatively easy for someone like Brian to get his stuff out there — and that’s awesome. Visit site »

Antonio Rodriguez, founder and CEO of Django-powered Tabblo.com (now part of HP), has moved his personal site over to Django and has a nice write up about switching to it from Typo.

The thing about Typo was that it was hard to make any changes to it without having some of that RoR “magic” explode in my face. With the Django there is no magic— just clean, explicit, and simple design.

Indeed.

Ryan Berg, local Lawrence web geek and all around good guy, launches yet another beautiful Django-powered blog into the wild. It’s really nicely done!

More and more web designers and developers are finding Django a great way to publish their personal content, it seems. And I believe the trend will continue. I have it on good word that one web designer with a very popular blog may be close to relaunching on a handmade Django CMS. All your blogs are belong to Django!

Check out Ryan’s — looks great! Visit site »
