First Light on the Golden Gate

Normally when low fog rolls through the Golden Gate it builds up in the ocean and then spills into the bay. The morning I took this shot (about five months ago) was the only time I’ve ever seen it work the other way around.

Before dawn there wasn’t any fog at all, then gradually fog built up in the bay and began to pour through the Golden Gate into the ocean. Maybe it’s not all that unusual but for me it was a first.

San Francisco really is a beautiful city.

    I’m absolutely jealous Rob - you continue to build an amazing portfolio of stunning bridge shots, and I have yet to ever see the bridge in fog under daylight. Congrats on another fantastic shot - the rich color palette in this shot really makes it stand out from some of your others.
