Well, she could probably tell you more, but I believe they approached her. The photo was posted at her phoblog and I presume they saw it and came-a-calling.
Sara e-mailed me asking if I’d heard of The Pitch in an effort to learn a bit about the publication that wanted to buy her photo.
Personally I still rather enjoy The Pitch, but I thought it was better back when it was called Pitch Weekly and wasn’t owned by New Times/Village Voice Media.

Wooooooooo! I was going to ask if you’d seen it. Yay!002 // Brian E. Ford // 02.15.2006 // 2:33 PM
That’s definitely very cool, but man do I hate The Pitch. Sensationalist Journalism at it’s best. (Apparently with very good taste in photography.)003 // Brian E. Ford // 02.15.2006 // 2:34 PM
Just out of curiosity.. how did that come about? Did she approach them, or did they approach her randomly?004 // Jeff Croft // 02.15.2006 // 2:46 PM

Nearly a month later and I still haven’t actually read the story that my photo was used for. Heh. But yeah, Brian, they approached me about it. (:
