Two questions:

2. Did the New York Times really just use a numeral “2” in a headline? Wow, maybe txt’ing really is killing the English language.
AP style of numerals less than 10 is relaxed in headlines because of supposed space limitations in print; but as an excuse online, it’s probably a shovelware of print-to-web workflow.
