Heh. Funny. The quotes used for “emphasis” is one of my biggest pet peeves. And not to pick on anyone in particular, but I do have a certain cousin who is fond of doing “this”. :)
I sometimes use single quotation marks for emphasis…(is ‘that’ okay?)…but I’ll only ever use speech/double quotation marks when referring to something that is being said verbally.
I use hyphens, exclamation marks and single-dotted lines far too much…and emoticons too!! ;)
