The IROC will make it into production by late 2008, and will bring the classic Scirocco brand back into the VW lineup. This is really, really hot. I want one. Now.

I know you’re a VW guy, but given their recent track record, the Volvo will undoubtedly be better made. On the other hand, if VW can bring it in for under 25k, it WOULD be pretty compelling.
Personally I’d love to see the Karmann-Ghia revived, but it can’t be done. The window on retro cars may be closing, but an even bigger hurdle would be the Ghia name…. Ford bought Ghia in the 70s and utterly squandered the brand on Ghia Granadas and other trash. But as far as I know they still own it.
